It’s another sunny day in California. That might sound pretty obvious for this time of year. According to the benevolent glow, it looks like it would be really warm out. However, it feels quite chilly in the shade. Daytripping across the Bay Area, one needs to pack several layers of options. You never know when you’ll get cold…or hot! Basically, the weather’s pleasant appearance is an illusion here. The sun puts on a happy front, suggesting that the temperature will indeed be temperate, but there are other factors that sneak in a dash or two of unexpected chill.
Do you ever put on a front as if everything is okay, when really, it’s not? I do it all the time, even as I realize that it is not genuine. I do it out of habit and I do it out of training. No matter the reason, pretending that you’re well when you’re not has the same effect as when the California sunshine falsely promises a warm day. People get disappointed along the way. They might not be prepared with the right gear if they are given the wrong impression.
We at Callings.ai want to help you find your dream job—no matter where you are along your quest. That is our highest priority. Once we have made it through our final Beta testing round, we will have everything ready and running to help you attain your career goals. Our co-founder Garrett Rice assures in his March 31st post: “Our goal is to empower people with AI to help level the playing field as they seek their next role” (Rice). Basically, we are vowing to lighten your responsibility load, help organize your target jobs, and save you hours upon hours of time on those grueling resumes and cover letters.
I know that before I employed Callings.ai tools in my job search, I used to put my very soul into each resume and cover letter, only to find out AI was computing emotionlessly on the other end. I would spend a day on a resume, followed by a day on a cover letter, imagining some kindly person reading everything I had composed. Well, times have changed. Pace is fast. To get our applications seen at all, we need more than our human capacities at this point in the game. We are fortunate that our savvy founders, Garrett Rice and Philippe Cailloux, have harnessed AI ingenuity to create a powerful job hunt product.
Amping up to be by your side, we encourage you to imagine what a day in the life of your future would look like. Would you prefer a fast-paced office job in a bustling city, or a slower, quieter pace working remotely from home? Would you enjoy a large team or a small one? What kind of pay range would most complement your life? What trade is your passion and what mission statements would you expect from a company? Once you begin to envision such details, you will get a better sense of where you will aim your application energies.
It might take time to realize what you want for your future. You might be spitting out applications madly, with few results. That is perfectly normal, especially at the beginning of your job hunt. Rice offers words of encouragement in his March 27th post: “Each application is an opportunity to refine your resume, cover letter, and interview skills. It’s a process that turns you into a more versatile and experienced candidate” (Rice). Give yourself the credit for the work you put in, and no matter how much you’ve done or which direction you have taken, it’s always the right time to ask for help.
Stay tuned as we bustle behind the scenes.
Help is on the way!
