Insights for the Job Seeker by Callings.ai

Some people say that it is possible to clear the mind completely. They say one can reach utter fulfillment through the serenity of a blank-slated brain. Others say that while clearing the mind is not possible, a person should accept passing thoughts and allow them to float by as if they are puffy clouds blowing in the wind. What do you think?

Notice that the word meditate begins with the word “me”. Meditation involves a complete retreat into oneself, allowing whatever is happening on the outside to keep on happening as it does. You might focus on a tactile item in order to unfocus from your thoughts. As the subconscious mind moves along like a conveyor belt of whims, memories, and random imaginings, gazing at something solid can be most grounding.

Many people pay attention to their breath in meditation. Deep breathing allows for the greatest degree of relaxation as well as the highest level of alertness. Job hunters are tasked with journeys of grand hopes and occasional fulfillments. You spend energy aspiring and analyzing. Overthinking becomes your norm, but you can re-normalize any time.

Meditation is recommended by spiritualists, athletes, and doctors alike. It is practiced across the globe and celebrated by creatives and scientists. You have the green light to give yourself the gift of a little “me” time. Spend the next few minutes tending to yourself through a meditation of your own, rather than reading another few hundred words.
