Insights for the Job Seeker by Callings.ai

Our pets can help us in the job hunt. Can they type out the names of companies to search for? Probably not. Can they call people up and recommend us for hire? Most certainly not. What they can do, however, is be there for us and support us. They can give us a reason to disengage periodically from the grind. When we pivot to take care of them and tend to their needs, we reap the rewards as well. The simple pleasure of feeding our pets, giving them treats, taking them for a walk, or sitting and petting them can soothe our busy minds.

Pets are highly attuned to changes in their environment and can sense warning signs keenly and much sooner than humans can. While it is not officially proven that dogs predict earthquakes, they often do tend to begin barking and whining beforehand. Dogs can sense when a person is about to have a seizure and can even sniff out cancer. Cats are known for helping to minimize anxiety and depression in humans. They assist people who are on the autism spectrum by supporting focused functionality to increase motor skills.

Pet therapy is more than just soothing. It is a gentle interaction that restores and realigns the nervous system. No wonder pets are brought into emotionally charged environments, such as hospitals, prisons, and schools. They can support people through legal ordeals and detect illicit drugs in airports. They can guide people with their keen senses, as well as locate people who have lost their way somewhere amidst the harshest of elements.

Pets serve as our hiking companions, urban protectors, farm hands, and security guards. They are our homebodies, fellow couch potato comrades, sous chefs, and devoted cheerleaders.

We can confide in our pets, resting assured they won’t go off gossiping about our secrets and spreading rumors for the sheer thrill of it. They don’t judge us like people are prone to do.

Pets can help us in the job hunt. Whether we have our own at home, or spend time with other people’s pets, the mutually therapeutic benefits are undeniable. Let’s turn to our pets and lean into their unconditional love for us. Looking for employment is stressful, but pets can ease the load simply with the pure provision of their presence.
